Pak Choy  (Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis) Bopak Hybrid is a vibrant and crisp leafy green, prized for its tender stalks and delicate flavor. Perfect for stir-fries, salads, and soups, this organic variety ensures a fresh and healthy addition to your meals.

Growing Zones: Zone 5 Canada

Planting Time: Directly sow seeds in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date.

Sun Requirements: Pak Choy grows best in full sun to partial shade.

Soil Preparation/Fertilizing: Prepare well-drained, rich soil with plenty of organic matter. Incorporate compost or well-rotted manure. A balanced fertilizer can be applied at planting.

Spacing: Space seedlings 6 to 8 inches apart in rows that are 12 to 18 inches apart.

Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water regularly, especially during dry spells.

Days to Harvest: Typically 45 to 60 days after sowing.

Harvest: Harvest when leaves are large enough to eat, cutting off the whole plant at the base, or pick outer leaves as needed.

To ensure plants arrive safe due to winter here in Zone 5, we will ship plants in May 2026.

Seedlings will be shipped in plug packs or 2 - 3 inch pots. Photos are reflective of plants growing on the farm or examples of grown seedlings, not what will be shipped or picked up.

It's important to harden off plants when they arrive to ensure they acclimate to the outdoor weather and ensure a more successful growing season.
