Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora) offers an intensely lemony fragrance and light, bright taste. Favored in herbal teas and culinary recipes, its leaves add an invigorating aroma and flavor to any kitchen or garden.
Growing Zones: Suitable for Zone 5 in Canada.
Planting Time: Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost or plant seedlings after the danger of frost has passed.
Sun Requirements: Full sun for at least 6 hours a day.
Soil Preparation/Fertilizing: Well-draining soil enriched with compost or balanced fertilizer.
Spacing: Space plants 18-24 inches apart.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged; water more frequently during dry spells.
Days to Harvest: 60-90 days from planting.
Harvest: Harvest leaves as needed; the best flavor is in the morning before the sun reaches full strength.
